Frequently Asked Questions
Will the formatting stay intact after converting PDF to Word?
Our converter strives to maintain the original formatting, including text styles, fonts, paragraphs, lists, and tables. However, complex layouts or specific font embeddings might result in minor variations. For most standard documents, the conversion is highly accurate, allowing you to edit the content easily in Word.
What types of PDF files are supported?
Digitally generated PDFs and PDFs with selectable text convert well. Scanned PDFs and image-only PDFs need OCR to extract text, which this tool does not currently perform — if you upload one, the tool detects this before converting and tells you directly instead of producing a mostly empty document.
My PDF was rejected as "scanned" but I can select text in it — why?
Detection samples several pages across the document and checks for extractable text. If most of the document is a scanned image with only a small amount of real text (for example, a signature page), it can be flagged this way. This is a rare edge case; if it happens, try converting a version of the PDF with the text-based pages isolated.
Is there a file size limit for the PDF conversion?
Yes. PDF to Word accepts files up to 5MB and 50 pages. For larger documents, split the PDF first or use an offline converter.
